Comprehensive Conservation Plan : Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge : Colorado : December 2016

This Comprehensive Conservation Plan is for the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge in Colorado. It is the result of extensive public input and close collaboration with several cooperating agencies: Adams County, City of Commerce City, City and County of Denver, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Denver International Airport, Denver Water, Tri-County Health Department, Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, U.S. Army, U.S. Department of Agriculture– Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, and U.S. Department of Transportation–Federal Highway Administration. Also, several nongovernmental organizations and private citizens contributed comments and input.

This comprehensive conservation plan is the first in the country designed for implementing the National Wildlife Refuge System’s new Urban Wildlife Conservation Program.

The last master plan for the refuge was completed in 1996. Almost 20 years have passed since that plan was finalized; this new plan will guide refuge management and conservation for the next 15-20 years.
