The Public Transit Stations feature class/shapefile is composed of fixed rail transit stations within the Continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The modes of transit that are serviced by these stations include cable car, commuter rail, heavy rail, inclined plane, light rail, monorail/automated guideway, and streetcar rail as defined by the Federal Transit Administration, US Department of Transportation.
