Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR : Bison Viewing & Pasture Access Guidelines

Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge (RMANWR) is one of many Refuges working towards conservation successes. When bison were re-introduced at RMANWR, the Refuge became part of a larger, ongoing effort for conservation and protection of wild bison. In addition, the Refuge provides educational opportunities for the public to view the bison that meets the mission of USFWS. This is also an opportunity to educate the public about proper behavior on a wildlife refuge and how to enjoy wildlife viewing with minimum disturbance to the animals.

Topics included in this Guideline document include; an introduction and brief background of bison on the RMANWR, general rules of behavior for bison observation, an overview of nature and environmental programs, and miscellaneous information for professional photographers and plans for future trails and public access roads.
