Tanzania Wami Ruvu Rufiji Long Term Rainfall Coefficient of Variation

This product is one of the indicator layers selected in assessing vulnerability during Wami-Ruvu-Rufiji mapping. Rainfall variability, also known as coefficient of variation, captures the variability of rainfall in within a region over a period of 30 years. The rainfall dataset is obtained from CHIRPS which is a blended satellite-station precipitation developed by CHG(Climate hazard group) and FEWSNET. High rainfall variability translates to high exposure of a population or ecosystem, this has a linear relationship to the overall vulnerability component.
