Rock units mapped by the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (1:500,000) are supplemented with mineralogic information related to rock fracability risk for EGS. Minerals that create soft, moderately hard, and hard (brittle) rocks were mapped including relative silica, calcite, clay, and gypsum abundance using ASTER band ratios. Please note: these results have not been field checked. This work was done as part of the Innovative Play Fairway Modeling Applied to the Tularosa Basin project.
