Uganda Agricultural Typologies

Under the scope of the Hand-in-Hand initiative (HiH), the Agricultural Typology aims to identify micro-regional level innovation opportunities, bottlenecks, and investment gaps based on the concept of the production possibilities frontier applied to farm activities, drawing on highly detailed household-level survey and geospatial data on agro-ecological conditions, accessibility, and poverty.

The main purpose of the agricultural typologies is to contribute to sustainable agricultural growth and food security in vulnerable regions by supporting the scaling of proven innovations in the agri-food sector. The developed methodology and the economic modeling tools enable to use the best opportunities for innovation investments in value chains.
