1982 Vegetation Study Boundary

Vegetation mapping was conducted as part of the Sustina Hydroelectric Project environmental studies and was completed in 1982, as described in McKendrick et. al. 1982. The large format map figure E.3.38 was obtained from the February 1983 FERC application (Alaska Power Authority 1983). The map depicted vegetation types with different fill symbols. It was scanned at 600 dpi and was georeferenced to a 1:250,000 Digital Raster Graphic (DRG) basemap using ten ground control points and a second order polynomial; root mean square error of the rectification was 45 m. The mapping boundary was digitized manually using the georeferenced map figure as a basemap. The boundary is approximate and is intended for purposes of evaluating the coverage of different vegetation mapping datasets.
