California Electric Generators

The CEC generator geospatial data layer contains point features representing generator or unit facilities in California, and generators with imported electricity from Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Mexico. The California Energy Commission (CEC) generator geospatial data layer has been created to display the locations of generator/ unit in California. This data provides electric generation and fuel use information related to power plant operations. The data is derived from CEC-1304 SCHEDULES 1 AND 2; CEC-1384 SCHEDULES 1, 2, 3 AND 4; etc. The data was digitized based on power plant spatial data in 2017 and joined with QFERGEN's unit table located at http://www.energy.ca.gov/almanac/electricity_data/web_qfer/Annual_Generation-Plant_Unit.php. For question on power generation or others, please contact Michael Nyberg at (916) 654-5968.
