California Operational Wind Turbines

The California Energy Commission’s wind turbines geospatial data layer displays the locations of wind turbines operated by wind energy generators in California. It aggregates and validates data from multiple sources, enabling users to perform analysis functions, which were previously limited to wind energy operators and purchasers. It also allows users to obtain further data on individual turbines by cross-referencing the turbine identifiers other organizations employ.

Its primary function is to support the Procurement and Modeling Unit, within the Supply Analysis Office (SAO) of the Energy Assessments Division (EAD) as it relates to the execution and management of the Wind Performance Reporting System (WPRS).

This dataset is not complete and is part of an ongoing Energy Commission project. There is no estimated date of completion.
