| notes | <b>City of Boise</b> downtown parking zones are established to regulate parking as to reduce negative impacts to residents, businesses, and traffic due to high vehicle density; in accordance with the provisions of the <a href="https://cityclerk.cityofboise.org/city-code/" target="_blank">Boise City Code Chapter 10</a>. The dataset includes the location of accessible parking, motorcycle parking, timed parking, metered parking, loading zones, bus stops, and police parking zones. The dataset does not identify parking garages, parking lots, or other parking facilities. The data set identifies the type of parking zones, maximum time duration, and category (general parking zone, residential time zone, or special parking district zone).<div><br /></div><div>This data set bears similarities to the City of Boise Parking Services Districts data set. The Parking Services Districts data set outlines the administrative boundaries of districts where parking control is enforced, while the Parking Zones data set identifies the curbside parking available within the control districts. This is a line data set representing the location of on-street (a.k.a. curbside) parking for the downtown and the mixed use, high impact residential areas of Boise City. </div><div><b><i><br /></i></b></div><div><i><b>ZONE CATEGORIES:</b></i></div><div> <b>GENERAL: </b>Parking zones whose use and time limits apply to the general public. These zones do not have residential or special district regulations to park beyond the allotted maximum time limit.<br /><b>RESIDENTIAL: </b>Defined in Boise Municipal Code Section 10, as zones "in which parking by non-residents will be restricted and the availability of parking for residents will be protected." The general public is subject to the maximum time limit identified. Residents with 'residential' placards are allowed to park for longer durations.<br /><b>SPD1: </b>Special Parking District 1 zones, while available for the general public up to 1 hour, are intended for use by residents and business within the Boise High Parking Control District, permits are issued by Boise City.<br /> <b>SPD2:</b> Special Parking District 2 zones, while available for the general public up to 1 hour, are intended for use by Boise High School students and faculty, permits are issued by Boise High School (September through May).</div><div><br /></div><div>The public should always obey the signs, signals, marking, and devices on the ground regardless of the content of this data set. This data set is maintained by Boise City IT GIS for the Parking Services Division of the Finance.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>For more information about Boise parking, please visit <a href="https://dfa.cityofboise.org/parking-compliance/" target="_blank"><b>City of Boise Finance & Administration Parking Compliance</b></a>.<br /></div> |
