The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators CESI program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Habitat Secured for Species at Risk indicator reports the amount of Canadian habitat that has been secured through the Habitat Stewardship Program for Species at Risk for the benefit of species assessed to be "at risk" Endangered, Threatened or of Special Concern by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada. The indicator reports the cumulative number of square kilometres of habitat secured through legally binding agreements with financial assistance from the Habitat Stewardship Program from the inception of the program. Information is provided to Canadians in a number of formats including: static and interactive maps, charts and graphs, HTML and CSV data tables and downloadable reports. See supplementary documentation for data sources and details on how those data were collected and how the indicator was calculated.
