Ground Validation GPS of the Main Eight Hawaiian Islands UTM Zone 5

This project is a cooperative effort between the NationalOcean Service, National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, Center forCoastal Monitoring and Assessment, the University of Hawaii, BAE Systems Spectral Solutions andAnalytical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLC. The goal of the work was toincorporate previously developed mapping methods to produce benthic habitat mapsgenerated by photo interpreting georeferenced IKONOS satellite imagery. These pointdata were generated to conduct ground validation during mappreparation.
