Historically, much of the data acquired internationally was retained solely in the archive of the IC that originally acquired the data. There was no requirement to provide a copy of the data to the USGS; so much of the international data was not duplicated in the USGS archive. In an attempt to consolidate the Landsat historical record, the Landsat Global Archive Consolidation (LGAC) initiative was established. The goal is to consolidate the Landsat archives of all stations worldwide and make all Landsat scenes available to users.*Note: Some stations shown are still active. Stations that have solely collected data as part of the USGS Landsat Ground Network (LGN) are not shown.
