Macro Native Grassland Range

This dataset is derived from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department native grassland layer. The purpose is to identify the distribution of core native grassland habitats in North Dakota. This product is not to be interpreted as a landuse/landcover classification. This dataset quantifies the amount of native grassland in a 16 sq. mile neighborhood at each focal point of the native grassland dataset. Various thresholds were utilized to identify core native grassland, primary and secondary habitat, or fixed intervals of the percent of native grassland on the landscape. For the ND Game and Fish Department maps services, fixed categories were delineated for percent native grassland per 16 sq. mile neighborhood. Classification methods can be utilized at the user's discretion. Constraints: Not to be used for navigation, for informational purposes only. See Game and Fish disclaimer for more information.
