We will discuss the impacts of the rapid tree mortality event that has/is occurring throughout the Sierra Nevada Region (SNR). Being that 60% of the state’s water comes from the SNR the impacts associated with the 129 million dead trees in the region (and counting) have a huge impact on local communities, ecosystem services, public safety and thus all Californians. Many Sierra Nevada counties have limited resources/infrastructure close enough to dispose of increasing amounts of woody materials which results in excess storing/decomposition or large-scale burning operations. </span></p><div><div style='font-family: "Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size: 17px;'><div style='margin-bottom: 3.1rem;'><div><div style='overflow: auto; overflow-wrap: break-word; max-width: 100%; display: inherit;'><div style='font-family: "Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif !important;'>Numbers referenced in this tour will be updated as new information becomes available. </div><div style='font-family: "Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif !important;'>The anticipated duration of the Web Map Application expires on 12/31/2019<br /></div><div><br /></div></div></div></div></div><div style='margin-bottom: 3.1rem; display: inherit; font-family: "Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size: 17px;'><div style='display: inherit;'></div></div></div> |
