The Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) conducted the baseline assessment on availability and facility readiness to provide essential maternal and newborn health (MNH) care services in selected health facilities in Ebonyi and Kogi states. The baseline consisted of a facility assessment to determine the quality of health care delivery services with the aim of examining MNH-related quality of care and facility readiness to provide MNH services including supplies, equipment and infrastructure. The purpose was to inform the design of interventions to improve the quality of MNH services in the two states.
