Monitoring Surveys for the Emergency Food Security Program in Eswatini, 2018

Through non-governmental organization partner World Vision, USAID’s Office of Food for Peace (FFP) is providing cash transfers for food to nearly 48,000 food-insecure individuals until the April-to-May harvest can begin, enabling them to purchase a diversified basket of nutritious and familiar food in local markets. This cash-based assistance boosts household purchasing power and increases access to food until households can harvest their crops, while simultaneously stimulating and strengthening Swazi economies.

This data asset contains three datasets: the verification survey (in lieu of a baseline report) validates the vulnerability of those to be admitted into the program, The post distribution monitoring (PDM) surveys asks how beneficiaries use food assistance transfers, whether that usage is consistent with the way in which the project was designed. The PDM II survey is very similar to PDM I, but also includes additional questions that would inform on the need for a follow-up program, and has information that also speaks to the current status of food insecurity.
