NOAA Coastal Imagery Viewer

Abstract: The imagery posted on this site is in response to Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping requirements. The aerial photography missions were conducted by NOAA’s National Geodetic Survey, Remote Sensing Division. Images were acquired from various altitudes ranging from 3,500 to 7,500 feet, using a Trimble Digital Sensor System (DSS) at a 37.5 degree look angle. Purpose: This imagery was acquired to satisfy a wide range of Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM) requirements, such as emergency response and coastal zone management.  It is not intended for mapping, charting or navigation. Supplemental Information: The ground sample distance (GSD) varies between 15 to 35cm within the image. In an effort to acquire imagery in a timely manner, clouds may be present. Be advised that the bounding coordinates reflect the extents of the images acquired in the United States coastal zone. It does not imply full image coverage of the bounding box area.Link to full metadata record
