Notes On The Amphibians And Reptiles Of The Great Dismal Swamp Of Virginia And North Carolina

The Great Dismal Swamp encompasses approximately 200,000 acres in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. As with this paper, most of the published works dealing with amphibians and reptiles in the Great Dismal Swamp are lists or recollections of trips to the area. This paper will focus on my knowledge of these groups of animals and over 15 years of visiting, collecting, observing and working in one of the most interesting habitats in the United States.
