The Laser Spectroscopy and Kinetics Laboratory is equipped to
carry out experimental work in atomic and molecular physics.
Research areas include chemical lasers, optically pumped lasers,
laser spectroscopy, and chemical kinetics. The labs include five
optical benches equipped with: (1) Spectra Physics Nd:YAG pumped
dye laser, (2) Coherent 4-watt narrow band Ti:Sapphire laser, (3)
Bomem DA-8 high resolution Fourier Transform Spectrometer, (4)
narrow band tunable diode lasers, (5) a 150W fiber laser pumped
Ti:Sapphire laser, (6) Lambda Physik EMG-101 excimer laser with
FL3002 pulsed dye laser, and (7) chemical flow tube reactor.Additional equipment includes a 1.3 m monochromator with visible
ICCD array, a 0.3 m monochromator with InGaAs array, digital
oscilliscopes, photon counters, lockin amplifiers, chemical
processing hoods, visible and infrared detectors and focal plane
arrays, and various spectral sources.
