Research program of the Morgantown Energy Research Center

Development of new and improved technology for coal conversion and utilization and enhanced recovery of oil and natural gas has been given priority by the Energy Research and Development Administration in its program of energy and fuels production from fossil sources. In support of this program, the Morgantown Energy Research Center (MERC) is engaged in a comprehensive effort involving in-house research supplemented by research projects under contract to private concerns and academic institutions. This brochure describes the objectives of these projects, accomplishments to date, and a general time-schedule for their completion.
