River Mile Index 1981

The river miles were digitized from the PDF copy of the original maps that were prepared by R&M Consultants, Inc. for the Alaska Power Authority, Susitna Hydroelectric Project. They were published in "Attachment D: Susitna River Mile Index, Mouth to Susitna Glacier", December 1981.The maps from the PDF document were exported out as TIF images and georeferenced to USGS 1:63,360 quad maps using ArcInfo 10. The georeferenced maps were used to create this point feature class of the river miles. In cases where two overlapping map sheets had slightly differing positions for the mile marker, a mean position was used.
