State of Emergency Declarations

ASTHO created a State of Emergency Declarations layer using Esri’s ArcGIS online mapping tool. Data was sourced from health agency websites, executive orders and guidance documents. The layer displays information on state of emergency declarations from state/territorial websites. Governors continue to work closely with federal and local health officials as well as private sector partners to address the threat of novel coronavirus. For additional information on what actions governors are taking to combat the pandemic, please see the National Governors Association (NGA) COVID-19 webpage. Please note, local authorities may also issue declarations or executive orders that are more restrictive in nature. This information is not included on this layer. Information is assessed regularly by ASTHO staff for relevance to state/territorial health officials’ priorities in their COVID-19 response.
