VETS Case Management System

The VETS Case Management System (VCMS) collects information for claims filed under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) and/or claims under the Veterans’ Preference (VP) provisions of the Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998.

Note: VCMS went live on 4/1/2020 and captures all newly generated cases from 4/1/2020 and onward. Cases which are under investigation are captured in the old VIPERS system. Both the VCMS and VIPERS systems capture the same variables.

USERRA cases do not have a statute of limitations. Though VETS will eventually have data on all active investigations within VCMS, VIPERS needs to be maintained in case we receive requests for referral of old cases, FOIA requests pertaining to data in that system, and for cases which existed in that system, which are requested to be re-opened based on new evidence.
