Terra ASTER Satellite Detections

The Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) is a high spatial resolution instrument onboard the Terra satellite launched by NASA in 1999. The ASTER instrument was built in Japan for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and produces global infrared imagery land surface temperature, reflectance, and elevation measurements that are used to create topographical, terrain height, and digital elevation models. ASTER data also provides fire context, burn scars, thermal anomalies, surface temperature, and emissivity. Instrument specifications for ASTER can be found at https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/instruments/aster.
