FFRRO Program Information

This asset includes information related to Cleanups at Federal Facilities. Information is provided about contaminated federal facility sites in specific communities, with access to technical fact sheets and tools and resources to help government agencies and their contractors fulfill cleanup obligations. EPA's federal facility information is easily accessible to ensure effective stakeholder involvement and accountability at federal facilities.

Multiple federal statutes establish requirements for EPA and other federal agencies to protect health and the human environment through cleanups at Federal Facilities, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) of 1980, which was amended by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) in 1986; the Defense Authorization Amendments and Base Realignment and Closure Acts (BRAC) of 1998 and the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990; and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), as amended by the Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments of 1984 (HS WA) including Subtitle C (hazardous waste), Subtitle D (solid waste), Subtitle I (underground storage tanks), and Subtitle J (Medical Waste Tracking Act of 1988).
