Hydropower plants in the Dinaric Alps region (2013)

Water accounts for the main source of production of electrical power in the Dinaric Alps, and contribute significantly to the countries’ economies. Albania gains 83 % of all electricity from hydropower plants, Montenegro 75 %, Bosnia and Herzegovina 60% and Croatia 54 %. Data were collected in the framework of the DIKTAS project.
