Scientific Collecting Legacy Permit (SCP) Reported Data Generalized [ds3005]

LEGACY PERMITS are those scientific collecting permits processed under Section 650, Title 14 regulations (operative 7-18-1996). These are permits issued on or prior to September 30, 2018, as well as permits issued after October 1, 2018 under the old ("legacy") SCP database, when the Department received the respective application on, or prior to, September 30, 2018.Each individual to whom an SCP is issued must provide their own Report of Specimens Collected or Salvaged. The information contained in this dataset is from those submitted reports and is only a small portion of the data that has been reported to the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Other (archived) SCP reported data may be added to this layer in the future as more resources are available for data entry and processing. The BIOS dataset - Scientific Collecting Permit (SCP) Reported Data Generalized [ds3006] - contains data reported to the Department under the new SCP Regulations using the Scientific Collecting Permit Portal (SCPP). This dataset can be accessed in BIOS using this url - https://apps.wildlife.ca.gov/bios/?al=ds3006WARNING: This reported data has not been checked for accuracy. Errors and misrepresentations exist (e.g., Lat/Long coordinate entry errors resulting in species out of range, etc.).This dataset represents legacy SCP reports, generalized to a 2.5 mile hexagon grid. If you need more specific location information, please contact the listed point of contact in the metadata.
