The Development, Implementation, and Assessment Approach

Throughout the federal government, there is a push to use and build evidence to improve effectiveness of programs in human services. The Permanency Innovations Initiative (PII) combines implementation science and rigorous evaluation and responds to the need for more evidence-supported interventions in child welfare. The Development, Implementation, and Assessment Approach was developed as part of this initiative and focuses on best practices in implementation science. Tested and refined in real-world settings, the Approach helps organizations develop or adapt innovations and effectively implement them with fidelity for sustainable change.
