| notes | For three weeks during the months of June and July, I conducted field data collection at Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge, Louisiana, in the permanently flooded, freshwater Lacassine Pool. The refuge manager was interested in the effects of the current drought(1998-2000) and recent prescribed burn(Winter, 2000) on the vegetation. Analysis indicated a high degree of vegetative complexity that is probably the result of a variety of interactions among long and short-term environmental and biological factors. |
