CAL FIRE's 2017 Strategic Fire Plan Accomplishments

This is the main map application for CAL FIRE's 2017 Strategic Fire Plan Accomplishments.  This app is comprised of seven Journal Story Maps as well as eight web maps (two which have the swipe functionality).  BackgroundThe 2010 California Strategic Fire Plan, approved by the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection (Board), identifies Seven Goals, along with their associated Objectives, to address wildland fire issues throughout the state of California.  CAL FIRE annually provides an update to the Board on accomplishments made to achieve these Seven Goals. This presentation was given to the Board on December 8, 2017, to outline fire prevention activities, forest health initiatives, suppression actions, public information and education, land use planning, and numerous statistics to highlight work performed by CAL FIRE during 2017.  It is intended to be the final presentation based on the 2010 Fire Plan, as an updated Fire Plan is now being written for anticipated adoption in 2018.We hope you enjoy looking at the incredible amount of work being performed across California to help reduce the impacts of unwanted wildfires, while living more cohesively in a natural fire environment.
