Each year the Government of Alberta forecasts tax revenue and publishes them in the government’s fiscal plan. This data provides more detail on the revenue raised by each tax and includes applicable tax rates. For example, fuel tax revenue is disaggregated by fuel type (i.e., gasoline and diesel, propane, aviation fuel, and railway). The table also includes the amount of revenue generated per unit of tax. For example, it is estimated that for 2012-13 the province collects $92.6 million for every one cent of fuel tax levied on gasoline and diesel.
