Fatigue Testing of Shrink-Fit Riser Connection for High Pressure Ultra-Deepwater Risers

The objective of this project was to make "project ready" the connection of steel riser components using a thermal Shrink-Fit assembly method by hydro-test and resonant fatigue testing. The Shrink-Fit connection is a technology that facilitates the fabrication of riser joints from high and ultra-high strength steel (80 - 130 ksi), for which welding may not be preferred.
