NGDAID 51 BOEM Federal Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Sand and Gravel Borrow Areas (Lease Areas)

The purpose of this dataset is to reflect the current status and spatial extent of marine mineral leasing activity on the OCS, which is a critical component of the BOEM's comprehensive resource management and stewardship role.  The BOEM uses these data to manage OCS marine mineral resources, reduce or avoid potential conflicts with other ocean uses (e.g. fishing, shipping, energy, submerged infrastructure, etc.), and preserve sensitive habitat and cultural resources.  The BOEM encourages its partners, stakeholders, and all ocean users to consider these data during the planning phases of ocean resource use or conservation projects.  The most current version of OCS marine mineral lease area data can be downloaded via the Marine Mineral Information System (MMIS) viewer at https://mmis.doi.gov/boemmmis/.  Metadata:  mmis.doi.gov/boemmmis/metadata/WAF/LeaseAreas.xml ArcGIS Rest Service:  https://mmis.doi.gov/arcgis/rest/services/MMIS/PlanningandAdministration/MapServer/1
