Red Sesbania (Sesbania punicea) Occurrences in California Database

This database represents historic and current observations by various individuals of occurrences red sesbania (Sesbania punicea); a non-native invasive plant that currently is invading riparian ecosystems in California. Most occurrences have been reported in the Central Valley, but a few have been documented in the San Francisco Bay area and in a few watersheds to the north of it. These data are being collected to aid in eradication/control of the species, as well as to inform the public of its spread and threat. As of May 25, 2005, there are 169 records, maintained in an access database titled SesbaniaData. Each record represents a point, line, or linear scattered occurrence.
