Solar irrigation Potential in Sub-Saharan Africa: A crop-specific techno-economic analysis

This dataset includes annual irrigation water requirements and corresponding irrigation energy needs for the period from 2000 to 2020. Additionally, the dataset provides the estimated annual irrigation yield gain, calculated as the difference between irrigated and rainfed yield within each crop cell, while keeping all other production conditions constant. Furthermore, the average annualized break-even crop prices over the 20-year period for viable solar irrigation are included for each gridded cropland cell.
